“Do more of what makes you happy.”

My love of color began as a child. My mother often reminded me that as a little girl, I would sort my blocks first by color and then by shape. I also recall my pediatrician examining my small hands and noticing that my pinky fingers were crooked and bent which I learned was hereditary. She told me not to worry, it means I was artistic. I probably took that to heart.

I have always been drawn to abstract art. There is something so calming about looking into a painting and discovering the purpose of each stroke whether purposeful or freestyle. Even when I was taking art lessons, drawing, sketching, painting,…it was my preferred style of art. - Catherine Maxwell McDaniel

In this class, Catherine will teach students to create abstract paintings focused on their chosen color ways. Focused on school colors, a favorite football team, or the colors of your bedroom… this is the perfect artwork tailored to you!
